There is something special about working on a project of this scale. We recently wrapped up the rough-in phase for a stunning new estate in South La Quinta, and the sheer scope of the property is incredible. Spanning 7,500 square feet, the estate includes a massive 6,000 sq ft main residence along with a dedicated 1,500 sq ft space designed for a bar, gym, and barn. With luxury amenities like a pickleball court, putting green, and an infinity pool, this property is built for high-end living — and the HVAC system needs to be just as impressive.

The Equipment: Why We Chose Bosch IDS

When you're dealing with a home of this caliber, equipment choice is everything. For this installation, we went with Bosch IDS (Inverter Ducted Split) high-efficiency heat pump units. In total, we are installing six units: five for the main house and one dedicated unit for the gym and bar area.

We chose the Bosch IDS system because it represents the gold standard in efficiency. Unlike traditional systems that simply blast on or off, these units use advanced inverter technology to ramp up and down precisely as needed. This provides much more stable temperatures and significantly lower energy consumption — which is exactly what a property this size deserves.

The Detail Work: Custom Mud-In Linear Slot Registers

Beyond the heavy lifting of the heat pumps, we focused heavily on the architectural details. One of the standout features of this project is the use of custom mud-in linear slot diffuser registers throughout both the main home and the barn.

If you aren't familiar with them, these are premium registers that are plastered flush with the ceiling. They offer a clean, seamless look that disappears into the architecture — no bulky grilles, no visible hardware, just a clean continuous line. It's a detail that most guests will never notice consciously, but they'll definitely feel the difference in how refined the space looks.

Where Things Stand Now

As of now, our crew has completed the rough installation phase. We've laid all the groundwork, run the ductwork, and set the primary components in place. We're currently waiting for the next stage of construction to progress before we return for final trim-out and startup.
